Safety Tips for Hauling Anhydrous Ammonia

It's that time of year again: Anhydrous Ammonia season.
It is important to follow a safety checklist when hauling and using
anhydrous ammonia / NH3

Below are a few important tips to do BEFORE you tow a nurse tank to your field:

  1. Make sure towing connections are in good condition, correctly adjusted and firmly secured.
  2. Hitches are secure and equipped with locking pins.
  3. Safety chains are securely connected
  4. The emergency five gallon water tank is filled with fresh water
  5. You must make sure all valves are closed when driving down the road (even when empty)
Follow these tips to increase the likelihood you won't have a problem in the field.
